Lucy, Edmund, Suse und Peter, vier Kinder aus London, werden während des Zweiten Weltkriegs zu ihrem Schutz auf den Landsitz eines in die Jahre gekommenen Professors geschickt. Beim Spielen stoßen sie zufällig auf einen geheimnisvollen Wandschrank. Lucy macht eine unglaubliche Entdeckung: Der Schrank ist das Tor zu der phantastischen Wunderwelt von Narnia. Dieses friedvolle Land, bewohnt von sprechenden Tieren, Zwergen, Faunen, Zentauren und Riesen wird jedoch von der bösen Weißen Hexe regiert, die das Land mit einem bösartigen Fluch unter Kontrolle hält: dem Fluch des ewigen Winters. Um sie zu besiegen, müssen sich die Kinder auf die Seite des Löwen Aslan, dem rechtmäßigen Herrscher Narnias, schlagen. Damit beginnt eine gewaltige Schlacht zwischen Gut und Böse…
